Downtown Aruba is literally crawling with local shops, and flea markets are some of the best places to get decent merchandise or souvenirs at great prices. And Wharfside Flea Market is one of the biggest and best options on the island.
Clothing, jewelry, artwork, leather goods, Arubian crafts, consumables... and quite possibly a kitchen sink can be found at one of the local markets. As aloe is a major Arubian crop, fresh and unique aloe-based items can also be found at great prices.
The only problem is that many vendors succeed in selling junk made in China. The trick to avoiding that trap is to look for vendors practicing and creating their artistry at their stations. They're not hard to spot. Happy haggling!
