This single-track line is the only public transportation of its kind in Aruba and has been operating in Oranjestad since 2012. Only one other single other rail line preceded it, but that line closed in 1960 and was for industrial purposes only.
There are nine stations on the route, and each stop is either a link to other forms of transportation or a noted downtown landmark. The trolleys are often double-decker, with spaces for viewing, and decorated with striped awnings and bright island colors.
