Abandoned 19th Century Gold Mill

Located at the tip of the Spanish Lagoon, the Balashi Gold Mill Ruins attract many visitors interested in Aruba's history. Over the course of the island's history, it produced as much as three million pounds of gold. The Balashi Gold Mill was a cornerstone of the industry.

Gold was discovered in Aruba in 1824. As a result, the mill was built. Over time as the industry declined, the mill was abandoned. Today, the Balashi Gold Mill stands as a testament to its illustrious gold-mining past. Its position near the beach is picturesque and makes for captivating photographs.
