Some call it the Paris of South America, but that doesn't do justice to Buenos Aires: It has its own unique culture that, while acknowledging its European influence, has found its own way and its own art. MALBA (Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires), established in 2001 around the collection of its founder, Eduardo Costantini, is considered one of the premier museums of modern art in Latin America, with a depth and range of works by artists from around the region. You will not only find static arts in the collection. In addition to paintings, sculpture and instillations, the museum offers plays, film screenings, literature readings and classes. Guided tours are also available. Be sure to take the time to relax and enjoy their restaurant and stop by the museum shop.
