El Monumental

Home to the famed River Plate football club, plus a women's squad, this stadium is indeed monumental. With a capacity of 62,000, it is the largest one in Argentina. It's not all about size, though: The grandstands and facilities are modern, and good security provides for a safe time while enjoying a match. Located in an upscale neighborhood near the banks of the Rio de la Plata, the stadium is easily reached by bus and taxi. Some train lines go nearby, but it then takes a little bit of a hike to get to the stadium itself. While you're there, be sure to take a guided tour and go to the museum dedicated to the team.
