Buenos Aires, Argentina

Buenos Aires Japanese Gardens

Add to Wishlist

Where East Meets Latin America

Relatively small - about five acres - this jewel of a garden displays many species of Japanese plants displayed in traditional styles. Stroll along the paths and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere which, while in the midst of the Retiro neighborhood, offers an escape from the city. For a century and a half, many Japanese have migrated to Latin America, and Argentina has always welcomed them. The gardens include a Peace Bell and many ishidoro (stone lanterns), which add to the atmosphere. The restaurant is prized for offering very good sushi and other traditional Japanese dishes, as well.
